Gallardo criticises Guardiola for giving up on reducing the debt by 1.718 million in exchange for following Feijóo's "strategy"

The Secretary General of the PSOE in Extremadura, Miguel Ángel Gallardo, has asked the President of the Junta, María Guardiola, to explain the reasons why she rejects the reduction of the debt of 1,718 million euros to Extremadura .
"Let him say why he is saying no to the cancellation of 1.718 billion euros in order to say yes to Mr. Feijóo's strategy," said Gallardo, in statements to the media at an event in the Extremadura Assembly.
"Mrs Guardiola should explain why she says no to each Extremaduran stopping paying 1,500 euros, and yes to guaranteeing the PP's strategy," insisted the leader of the Extremadura socialists, for whom the president of the Junta "has it very difficult" because everything related to the PP's strategy is a "lie."
A strategy that is "the worse things go for the Government, the better things will go for the PP", even if this is detrimental, as he said, to the well-being of the Spanish people. According to Gallardo, the explanation given by the 'populares' to reject the debt relief, arguing that it benefits the Catalan independence movement "does not hold up" given that, while Extremadura will benefit from 30.5 percent of the debt relief, Catalonia will benefit from 22 percent.
"Extremadura has lost its autonomy, it is in the hands of the PP's national strategy and even if they say no today, Mrs Guardiola, sooner or later, will have to say yes," the socialist leader predicted, because, otherwise, the people of Extremadura will ask her for explanations of "why she does not want to strengthen healthcare, policies to help the dependent, or housing."
Gallardo also explained that, although the debt will not disappear, in Extremadura they will pay 30.5 percent less, "so the PP's is a complete lie," he insisted, adding that the debt will be "solidary" for all Spaniards , he added, but it will "alleviate" the finances of the Extremadura region and its autonomy.
Therefore, he said, it will help to "strengthen" education, housing and health policies, which are "so deteriorated" after two years of Guardiola's government in the region. "I think this is one more fallacy in the framework of a PP strategy where it doesn't matter if something is positive for Extremadura," he concluded.
